I’ve always been a competitive person. I like to push myself. So I’m glad to be at Nokia Siemens Networks, where I’ve been able to take on new challenges and progress in my career.

I joined the company in 2001 as the junior member of a small logistics team. Within four years, I was assigned to Beijing, where I was responsible for the company’s services business in China. Today I work as ERP country project manager for Nokia Siemens Network’s Asia-Pacific region.

I never imagined my career would take off so fast. But if you’re ambitious and prepared to work hard, the culture here makes almost anything possible.

The management style is very different here from other companies. There’s more open communication, and more support. We also have regular performance evaluations, which help everyone focus on their career goals and what they need to do to achieve them.

The other great thing about this company is that we have the freedom to try new things and make mistakes occasionally. Everyone here recognises that learning from mistakes is part of what innovation is all about.

In today’s business world, you can’t take anything for granted. But as long as I keep developing my career and taking advantage of the opportunities around me, I can feel confident about my future.
