JP Takala
Head of Japan Region, Nokia Siemens Networks

Biography
With over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, JP is a leader with a wealth of international experience having held executive roles spanning Finland, Asia and Africa. As the head of Japan, JP oversees all of Nokia Siemens Networks operations in the country and is charged with increasing the company’s depth and reach in one of the world’s most advanced mobile broadband market.
Commencing his career as a software engineer for Switching Systems at Nokia in Finland, JP has held a wide variety of roles in R&D, business development and account management for major customers. In his previous role as Head of R&D in Japan, JP’s mandate has been to ensure that the company’s product quality, quality processes and ongoing development activities meet the rigorous standards and expectations of some of Nokia Siemens Networks’ most important global customers.
Prior to these roles, JP successfully held various Business Development and Account Management positions for Nokia and then Nokia Siemens Networks Business across Asia and Africa.
Born in Finland and currently based in Tokyo, JP holds an Engineering Degree in Telecommunications from Riihimaki Technical Institute and a BSc in Teleinfomatics from Espoo-Vantaa Technical Institute. He is the proud father of four children.
