The Powerlines Group is one of Europe's leading providers for the construction and expansion of power engineering infrastructure facilities. The Group acts as a prime contractor for the planning, installation and maintenance of catenary systems, conductor rails, transmission lines and cable systems as well as telecommunications infra-structures. The Group also offers manpower services.

Though the Powerlines Group's main focus is on central Europe, the Group also has plans for a strategic expansion of activities to the northern and eastern European markets within the next five years. Via a network of international partners, the Group is already able to implement global power infrastructure projects for rail-mounted vehicles and trolleybuses.

The Group’s members SPL Powerlines Austria, SPL Powerlines Germany, SPL Power-lines Sweden, FEB Fahrleitungs- und Elektrobau, SMD Personal-Dienstleistungen and VLB Leitungsbau employ over 800 people in Austria, Germany and Scandinavia.
