Community

Our support is targeted where we can offer the greatest contribution by using our core competencies in communications technologies – and where our employees can contribute most by volunteering. We focus on three key areas:

• Education related to ICT – we contribute to education projects around the world by connecting schools and universities, and supporting online programs focusing on particular issues such as promoting safer internet use for young people
• Disaster preparedness and relief – we volunteer our technical expertise to restore telecommunications that can make a life or death difference by helping to coordinate disaster relief efforts
• Environment – we support local projects as part of our commitment to minimize environmental impacts (see environment).

We contribute to communities in these areas through our long term partnerships with global charities such as Save the Children, our employees’ volunteering efforts, and corporate donations of money and equipment.

Many of our employees also volunteer to support a wide range of local programs that aim to connect the disadvantaged in their communities.
