"According to researchers, the carbon footprint of a one-hour mobile phone call is 1,000 times smaller than the environmental load of the travel required for a face-to-face meeting. What else can the communications industry do to raise its environmental performance?"
Mun mielestä toi viimeinen on hyvä kysymys, itseänikin askarruttaa, ihmetyttää. Varmaan monenlaistakin, kyllä insinöörimieli keksii. Massatuotannossa olisi hyvä keskittyä operaation hiomiseen viimeiseen asti. Mutta mikäs minä olen neuvomaan.
Seuraan jatkossakin teidän sivujen tarjontaa.
Kiitos ja Ystävällisin terveisin Tapio Moisala

Tapio, in your comment in Finnish language, you raise a good point in saying that both corporations and individuals need to do their part. That is the only way we can reach significant results. It's a very small and simple thing for one person to for example unplug their charger after the mobile is fully charged (electricity is consumed always when the charger is plugged in, regardless wheather the phone is attached or not). But if you multiply that by three billion people currently using mobile phones, you will start seeing significant benefits.
Top 200 corporations today generate a third of global economic activity. This means that they need to take an active role in the society, and consider, not only their financial bottom line, but also their environmental and social influence.
