Bernd Schumacher

Biography
Bernd Schumacher is responsible for the IP Transport business at Nokia Siemens Networks. From September 2004 he was President of the Optical Network Division of Siemens Communications. From the end of 2001 until 2004 he was Vice President of Product Management for the Optical Carrier Product Portfolio and the ICN Carrier Product Portfolio.
In 1998, Bernd became Vice President of Sales, Information and Broadband Division in Central Europe and later on became Vice President of Sales, South America for the Transmission System Division and also had worldwide sales responsibility for sea cable transmission systems.
Prior to this, Bernd held various sales management positions in China and other Asian countries, lastly as Head of Sales & Order Processing Division for Greater China. Schumacher joined Siemens in 1992 as part of the International Trainee Program.
He is married and has four children. In his spare time Bernd enjoys mountaineering, cycling and sailing.
