Long Term Evolution

LTE will bring true broadband speeds, bringing even more advanced applications to mobile screens. With our focus on commercial hardware and software, not pre-commercial intermediate solutions, we are driving the evolution to LTE.

The highly-efficient Flexi Multiradio BTS offers a smooth evolution from WCDMA/HSPA to LTE. Our core products provide a similar evolution to LTE/SAE, supporting Mobility Management Entity, Serving Gateway and PDN Gateway functionalities.

"LTE spectral efficiency gives tremendous deployment flexibility. Service providers can apply more bandwidth in hotspots with high capacity demands, and down to 1.4 MHz blocks to achieve efficient nationwide coverage" Kai Sahala, Head of Strategic Solution Sales, Radio Access, Nokia Siemens Networks

Nokia Siemens Networks has been providing GSM and WCDMA/HSPA/All-IP networks for years, offering true mobile broadband for consumers. The LTE solution will ensure competitiveness of these networks by providing the next smooth evolution step to the market.

Nokia Siemens Networks has been at the forefront of LTE development as the first supplier in the world to demonstrate LTE with data speeds up to 160 MB/s already in 2006, and the first supplier to complete a handover between LTE and HSPA.

LTE offers an open and global specification for next generation networks that will bring scale and efficiencies for vendors, choice in network equipment and devices for operators, and ultimately lower costs and more benefits to consumers.
