Head of Transition and Transformation, Managed Services in Middle East and Africa
Joshua Smythwood is the head of Transition and Transformation for Nokia Siemens Networks Managed Services in Middle East and Africa.
He leads transitions and network operations transformation programs outsourced from operators to Nokia Siemens Networks. He is also responsible for developing regional competence and capabilities to support the global services delivery strategy related to transfer of critical operations functions to manage end to end delivery for managed services contracts.
Joshua Smythwood Biography
Joshua brings with him over 12 years of international experience in Telecommunications industry across Middle East, Africa, and North America. Joshua started his career within the operator environment where he gained valuable experience in operating major network infrastructures. He then moved into the Telecom Equipment Supplier arena, where he has played a vital role in establishing Nokia Siemens network as a key supplier of Managed Services in Africa over the last 3 years. He led the outsourcing from Zain to Nokia Siemens Networks in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. This deal is the largest and first multi country network operations outsourcing on the African Continent.
Prior to his actual appointment he held a number of senior positions and consulting roles within Ericsson, AT&T, Parsons Corporation and Qwest.
Joshua Smythwood is currently based within South Africa and is married with two children.
