Ashwini Bakshi is the head of Managed Services for Nokia Siemens Networks, Global Services. He is also a member of the Nokia Siemens Networks Global Services leadership team. In this role, Ashwini maintains close dialogue with key customers globally and leverages his deep understanding of the challenges that operators and service providers face today in the competitive market. Helping operators transform their business to offer greater value for their customers and achieve competitive differentiation are particular areas of interest for Ashwini.
Ashwini brings with him nearly 20 years of international general management experience from across Asia and Europe. Having started with Nokia Networks in India in 1995 in its services marketing and sales unit, Ashwini moved to Hong Kong in 1997 to oversee the services business there. This was followed by an assignment in Finland where he was involved in crafting the first break-away services strategy in the context of internet-driven industry changes.
Ashwini then relocated to India to lead the services business there and soon took over the role of country management for Nokia Networks' India business. After significant breakthroughs in the India market in the early 2000s, Ashwini moved to Singapore to lead services sales across a variety of APAC countries.
Ashwini has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from St.Stephen’s College, Delhi, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Currently based in Singapore, Ashwini is married and has two children. He is an avid reader and a keen squash player and a long-distance runner.
