Biography
In a professional career spanning more than 20 years within the telecommunications industry, Lauri has held various senior roles at both Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks. Known as a steadfast and passionate leader with a hands-on management style, Lauri has a proven record of developing great teams. He has a strong experience in interfacing with various corporate stakeholders.
Lauri heads the Corporate Affairs function at Nokia Siemens Networks. In this role, he is responsible for government affairs, corporate sustainability and the ethics office of the organization. He has a wide range of experience within the Nokia Group, which he joined in 1988 as a Communications Manager in Helsinki. In 1989, he was appointed the Communications Manager for Geneva-based Nokia Consumer Electronics.
Lauri was appointed the Vice-President of Communications at Nokia Mobile Phones in 1992, before moving to the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Nokia Group. His last position at Nokia before joining Nokia Siemens Networks was Head of Nokia’s EU Representative Office based in Brussels.
Lauri was born in 1961 in Vaasa, Finland, and holds a Master of Business Sciences from the Turku School of Economics after completing studies in Finland and St. Gallen (Switzerland). Lauri was a member of the Nokia Deutschland GmbH Supervisory Board for the period 2002-2006, and has been chairing the Nokia Siemens Networks Supervisory Board in Germany since 2007. He was an associate of the European Roundtable during 2005-2009 and a board member of EICTA, the European digital technology industry association during 2006-2008.
Lauri is based in Munich, he is married and has three children. In his spare time, he enjoys music and sports.
