 Biography

Marc has over 20 years of international management experience in the telecommunications industry, having held positions in R&D, customer operations and product management in the U.S., France and Finland. Showing clear strategic and tactic leadership in complex commercial and technical markets, Marc has turned around large businesses to achieve growth and profitability in competitive environments.  He has a strong experience in joint ventures and mergers, from Nokia Siemens Networks, Alcatel-Lucent, Alcatel Fujitsu’s Evolium joint venture, which he headed, and Nortel Matra Cellular. 

Marc joined Nokia Siemens Networks as Head of Radio Access in April 2008 and held the position until December 2009. Marc had global responsibility for the company’s radio access business, solidifying its position as a leader in 3G and winning important new customers, and efficiently took LTE development further to support early commercial LTE network launches, making Nokia Siemens Networks the first in the world to ship LTE compatible hardware to customers in 2008 as well as the first to perform an LTE call on commercial software. 

Prior to Nokia Siemens Networks, Marc was with Alcatel-Lucent where he headed the Convergence Business Group after having held positions such as Chief Operating Officer and President of the Wireless Business Group at Alcatel. Before joining Alcatel, Marc worked for Matra and Nortel Matra Cellular in Engineering and R&D positions, developing GSM products. He was part of the early team creating GSM in the 1980s. 

Born in 1963 Marc holds a Ph.D. in Information Theory from University of Notre Dame, Indiana, U.S., an Engineering degree in Signal Processing from Supélec, France, and he is a graduate in Computer Science from Université d’Orsay, France. He is a French citizen. In his spare time Marc enjoys sailing. Based in Espoo, he is married and has five children.
