m:tel subscribers poised to enjoy high-quality 2G services
Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina - December 9, 2009
Setting the stage for ubiquitous mobile services, m:tel selects Nokia Siemens Networks to extend and enhance its GSM network
Telekomunikacije RS a.d. Banja Luka - m:tel, one of the country’s leading communications service provider, will soon extend its services to more customers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while improving their overall end-user experience. The operator has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to expand and upgrade its GSM network and enable customized services for its subscribers.
“This network expansion will allow us to extend coverage to customers in small towns and rural areas, but we want to do more,” said Predrag Culibrk, CEO of m:tel. “Beyond simply expanding our subscriber base, our goal is to offer a rich end-user experience to all of our customers. Nokia Siemens Networks’ range of solutions will give us the timely customer insights to launch personalized services and deliver superior experience that will lead to increased usage. We are very confident that the network upgrade will help us maintain our strong market position by not only keeping existing customers but also attracting new ones.”
As part of the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will expand m:tel’s GSM radio network and mobile softswitching core network, and ensure efficient and rapid roll-out through professional implementation services.
The company will also provide its Service Assurance Solution, offering to give m:tel a real-time view of user activity and service usage to enable rapid problem detection and the introduction of new services. Likewise, Nokia Siemens Networks’ browsing gateway will provide m:tel customers with access to advanced data services, and an extension of the charge@once prepaid charging platform will pave the way for attractive loyalty programs.
“As end-users become more demanding, service providers can turn this challenge into an opportunity by offering differentiated services based on subscriber needs and preferences,” said Dietmar Appeltauer, head of Central East Europe, Nokia Siemens Networks. ”Our mission is to enable operators such as m:tel to raise the bar on customer experience. We are building on our long term partnership with m:tel – which dates back to 1999 - to support it with best-in-class solutions customized to its business needs.”
