Nokia Siemens Networks wins top honours at CommsMEA Awards 2010
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 14 December 2010
The ‘African Vendor of the Year’ award demonstrates Nokia Siemens Networks’ investment and commitment to the African region.
Nokia Siemens Networks has been recognized for its contribution in bringing innovative technology and services in the field of telecommunications to the African continent with the CommsMEA ‘African Vendor of the Year’ award. Nokia Siemens Networks has won the award for the second year in succession.
The award was presented to Nokia Siemens Networks in a ceremony that took place in Dubai on 30 November 2010. It is a testament to the company’s robust infrastructure solutions and managed services portfolio. The award was given based on Nokia Siemens Networks’ achievements with Zain East Africa and leo Namibia.
Adnan Kureshy, head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nokia Siemens Networks - Middle East and Africa said, “Africa is a fast growing and highly competitive market. Winning the e award again this year, reflects our strong product portfolio , services capabilities and our continued commitment to the African continent. It is an honor to receive this award for our achievements and we will continue to focus on providing the best solutions as Africa continues to grow.”
Nokia Siemens Networks operates Zain's (now Bharti) networks in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, optimizing, modernizing and managing over 3,000 multi-vendor mobile networks sites. This allows Zain to focus more on vital customer-facing activities. Nokia Siemens Networks' charge@once flexible charging solution has reduced the time taken by leo Namibia to launch new services from months to barely two weeks, on an average, enabling them to tailor marketing campaigns in an agile and responsive way.
CommsMEA Awards is an annual event organized by CommsMEA magazine. Now in its fifth year, the CommsMEA Awards recognize leadership and excellence in the telecommunications industry across the Middle East and Africa region.
