2010-12-22 | Idea Cellular chooses Nokia Siemens Networks for 3G
Idea Cellular will soon provide its subscribers with 3G services including high-speed mobile broadband, improved voice services and innovative value-added services. Idea Cellular has commissioned Nokia Siemens Networks to supply equipment, and build and manage its HSPA* networks in four circles** – Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), Kerala and Haryana. Nokia Siemens Networks is currently a major GSM vendor for the operator and the deal will strengthen this relationship with a smooth overlay of 3G on the existing GSM network.

Marking a defined step forward in TD-LTE commercialization, Sequans, a leading chipset platform provider, and Nokia Siemens Networks have successfully conducted interoperability trials of the technology in the 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 2.6 GHz frequency bands. The demonstration tested the interoperability of Nokia Siemens Networks’ TD-LTE infrastructure equipment with Sequans’ SQN3010 platform*.

SFR subscribers in the largest cities across France will soon benefit from significantly improved mobile broadband. Anticipating an exponential traffic growth, the operator has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to build extra capacity in its existing 3G network. In a further development, SFR, in collaboration with Nokia Siemens Networks, has given a live preview of a technology that will allow download speeds of up to 42 megabits per second (Mbps), twice the current peak rate.

2010-12-15 | T-Mobile USA, Nokia Siemens Networks drive evolution of HSPA
Operators would be able to achieve peak data rates of more than 650 megabits per second (Mbps), thanks to an HSPA standard being driven by T-Mobile USA and Nokia Siemens Networks. Long Term HSPA Evolution would improve mobile broadband with speeds matching those promised by LTE Advanced. T-Mobile USA and Nokia Siemens Networks are driving the technology’s standardization aiming to make it available for commercial deployment by 2013.

Subscribers to Finland’s market leading operator Elisa will enjoy a world-class mobile broadband experience with even better 3G quality and coverage and with 4G/LTE data speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The operator selected Nokia Siemens Networks for building a first phase Long Term Evolution (LTE) network and at the same time modernizing the existing nationwide GSM and 3G networks with Single RAN. As part of the agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy its Flexi Multiradio Base Stations and high capacity Multicontroller platform in the network. With these common platforms Elisa will significantly cut operational costs for GSM, 3G and LTE.

Aircel is gearing up to offer high-quality mobile broadband, a new range of value-added services and significantly improved voice services to its subscribers. The operator has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to supply, deploy and manage its HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access)* enabled 3G network in three circles** – Punjab, Kolkata and rest of West Bengal. Nokia Siemens Networks has supplied and continues to manage Aircel’s GSM/EDGE network in six circles of the country.
