CMS-8200 Home Subscriber Server for LTE and IMS

CMS-8200 Home Subscriber Server for LTE and IMS

Our CMS-8200 Home Subscriber Server can be combined with One-NDS which enables you to consolidate your subscriber data into one common repository.

The CMS-8200 provides Home Subscriber Server (HSS) function for LTE data access management for voice and data, Subscription Profile Repository (SPR) and HSS for IMS-based next generation networks.

With the availability of mobile broadband, people connect increasingly to the web to browse, play games or watch videos from their smart phones and tablet PCs.

As large LTE deployments ramp up for wide-spread mobile broadband smart phone and tablet PC access, they need HSS and IMS to provide authentication and high quality service delivery.

The LTE boom provides you with a great opportunity to offer new services and grow your revenue, but it also puts a high data and signaling traffic load on your network. And the same opportunity open to you for new services and new revenue is also available to over-the-top (OTT) providers.

Your competitive advantage is your network and the relationship you have with your customers. The Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) together with the CMS-8200 deliver secure voice and multimedia services to your end-users without requiring another registration and password. They provide session and service continuity over several network domains, giving your subscribers the same look and feel.

Our CMS-8200 delivers the following capabilities:

  • Evolved Packet Core (EPC) HSS - delivers LTE authentication and data access management to ensure a successful LTE service
  • SPR - supports the centralization of third-party Policy and Charging Rules Functions (PCRFs) policy data into the geo-redundant, highly scalable One-NDS
  • IMS HSS - provides a subscriber data management solution for IMS-based next-generation networks

To ensure high availability, scalability and performance at the lowest possible footprint and energy consumption, the CMS-8200 is based on the future-proof Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) hardware platform. It allows you to start your mobile broadband business with CMS-8200 (EPC HSS), Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and PCRF in one homogeneous cabinet for data services and easily upgrade this with Telephony Application Server (TAS) , Mobile Switching Center (MSC) server, Media Gateway (MGW) and Call State Control Function (CSCF) to a ‘VoLTE node’.

The CMS-8200 uses a very flexible architecture allowing you to choose the deployment scenario that best fits to your existing network, either by co-locating or separating various capabilities.

The CMS-8200 can be used for broadband access (3GPP, eHRPD/WIMAX) and in IMS-based networks (mobile, fixed and cable).

The business benefits

  • Provides proven LTE and non-3GPP access management
  • Ensures a smooth evolution to LTE and VoLTE
  • Enables core convergence of mobile, fixed and cable networks
  • Delivers seamless roaming and handover (LTE – CDMA, LTE – 2G/3G, CDMA – Wireless)
  • Saves OPEX due to common applications and simplified network
  • Combined with our One-NDS product, the CMS-8200 enables geo-redundancy, multi-application and multi-tenancy – unique in the industry.

Why Nokia Siemens Networks?

We are the industry leader (Infonetics Research, IMS Services Strategies, Product Features, and Vendor Leadership: Global Service Provider Study, June 2011) with more than 70 commercial contracts for our CMS-8200. 30 of the contracts are for LTE data access management, including the world’s largest LTE deployment where millions of active subscribers were reached within the first few months.
