US Family Medical Leave Act

The Family Medical Leave Act is the US federal law under which certain types of leaves of absence are provided to eligible employees who request them for up to a total of twelve (12) weeks in a calendar year or, in the case of a military caregiver leave, up to a total of twenty-six (26) weeks in a single 12 month period.  Further information on employee rights and responsibilities related to the Family Medical Leave Act, including recent updates effective 1/16/09, can be found through the attached link.
